I am still working with a three value grey scale but this face needed more modeling so that probably makes more values than three. I didn't like the blocky look of flat patches of value.
Pattie, Thank you! I really wanted to do this challenge but a painting a day for me is not a goal I feel is workable. So these studies are a great exercise and thinking process.
This is a great focus! You do a wonderful job - showing great light and shadow!
