oil on archival board
This seemed to be a perfect pose for a relaxing Sunday. It is a busy scene but I think by consolidating the dark on the front of the robe it has a less chaotic feel. I might do a color study before I try this in a larger format.
I do like the black and white because the design comes through strong. I would be interested to see what colors you choose when you paint this again.

ReplyDeleteHi Diana, I have really found these little studies interesting. After I block them in I can push and pull the values to tighten up the over all design. This is the advantage to using oils in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThe model was wearing a teal/turquoise robe. The lamp light gave a peachy cast to the room.
